{"id":18,"date":"2007-08-03T16:40:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-03T20:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thrufire.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/03\/responding-to-foolish-non-sense\/"},"modified":"2013-12-21T20:48:38","modified_gmt":"2013-12-22T00:48:38","slug":"responding-to-foolish-non-sense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thrufire.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/responding-to-foolish-non-sense\/","title":{"rendered":"Responding to Foolish Non-sense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jay Watts over at the <a href=\"http:\/\/lti-blog.blogspot.com\/\">LTI Blog<\/a> dives into a straw bale mountain by way of <a href=\"http:\/\/jivinjehoshaphat.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/abortionist-at-daily-kos-seems-to-have.html\">JivinJehoshaphat&#8217;s link to an article on DailyKos<\/a> but ends up hitting a wall of irrationality &#8211; in particular, when Jay reaches the repetitious secular argument that we&#8217;re nothing but more-evolved primates.<\/p>\n<p>That argument calls for a consistent, but thoroughly thought-provoking response:<\/p>\n<p>When someone states that human life is no more precious than an animal species, then I say to that person <strong>&#8220;that their time is better spent arguing with that particular animal instead of me, for why do I matter any more to them than that animal, or for that matter a rock?&#8221;<\/strong> Follow that statement with direct action &#8211; leave. Eventually they&#8217;ll get the idea that the humans they despise might be more interesting, and valuable, than their beloved animal. Even if they don&#8217;t get the clue, your time is better spent elsewhere anyway.<\/p>\n<p>If people insist on being non-sensical, simply show them they are, then leave them alone.
