The culture war is a war against ignorance and insanity. Some gratefully label themselves ignorant while others repeatedly prove they are within their own moral universe through delusional denial and semantic sophistry, such as exhibited by Colmes and Obama. No matter how irrefutable the evidence of crimes against human beings, both pre-born and born, personal denial is always sought.
They escape into the darkness of their own souls, cowering from the truth.
The only correct response is to have compassion and mercy upon the living victims and even upon the criminals.
In a world where loving-kindness is rare, Christ had it right – love your enemies until the day they are judged by Him. May the Lord have mercy upon them in his wrath.
No matter how blind others are to the truth, we can never be blind to the injustices inflicted upon the innocent, nor stop our efforts to defend and protect them. So it rages on.
This morning I paid a very unlikely visit to DailyKos.
In the article I was reading the writer referred to being carted off to Guantonamo by government officials for making certain statements (huh?), and it made me reflect upon some of my own posts – in particular the last one: How long before another KristallNacht.
Without actually watching the video, one could see my post as an overreaction. But in light of that comment on DailyKos, it occurred to me that some liberals might feel persecuted too. Is such a feeling real or imagined? Is it merely a ploy or collective paranoia?
I think it’s far easier to paint one as a right wingnut or a looney leftist, than to engage in actual hard and serious debate, but my experiences over the last 4 years of on-line abortion discussion indicate few are courageous enough to concede valid points to the other side. There is no penalty for people to run away from the cross-exam, so there is no reason to critically examine the other side’s viewpoint.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about the pro-life strategy because politically, and legally conditions require seriously educating others about the impact of abortion not only in America, but around the world.
Militarily, when one is fighting an opponent, the battle is won when one force can get inside the decision cycle of the other side.
So where does abortion “rights” lead in terms of future “progress”?
What would be an objective on that path?
My last post – made as a joking aside about James Carville’s famous quip, has since turned out to be totally and 100% on target: this election is definitely about life. After McCain’s selection of Palin, rumors flew that she was Trig’s grandmother. The latest – Bristol Palin is not Trig’s mother – but she is, indeed, a mother.
Michelle Malkin summed it up that the contrasts between the two teams couldn’t be any stronger. Yet most of America is completely in the dark about Obama’s views, in particular why Obama gave that unusual answer at Saddleback.
While it left many confused – when they learn of Obama’s reason (and, like my younger brother, they get over being sick) then they truly grasp what kind of hope and change he’s pushing.
Jill Stanek at the Emily’s List gala at the Democratic National Convention is hearing silence about choice. Apparently there’s a little issue called IL BAIPA that they don’t want to deal with – if the American people knew the truth about this issue when it come to Barack – they might make a different choice.
*James Carville – who coined the phrase for Bill Clinton.
It’s from the Bible. Abraham’s nephew Lot was pulled from Sodom right before it was destroyed by fire. The prophets referred to those saved from destruction as being like one who is “snatched from the flames”.
If you’ve been thrufire - saved from destruction, then the Holy Spirit frees you to tell that story to glorify God.
There’s many people alive today because someone convinced a mother to save her child from the destruction of abortion. I want to tell the world their life stories. Want to help?
